Peruvian law firm Estudio Olaechea has announced the appointment of Carol Quiroz as a new partner of the firm

Quiroz has been with the firm for more than five years as a senior associate and has almost two decades of experience in legal consulting related to corporate law and regulatory compliance.

Currently, she leads the firm’s personal data protection practice, which the firm launched in 2013 and which in recent years has become one of the fastest growing in the firm, since the entry into force, in 2018, of Peru’s personal data protection law and as access to and use of data has become a fundamental element of doing business.

With this appointment, Estudio Olaechea now has nine female partners, which brings it to the threshold of parity between men and women at the partner level.

Quiroz graduated in law from the Universidad de San Martín de Porres, and has a master's degree in civil law from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú as well as in digital law and new technologies from the Universidad de Salamanca in Spain. She also has a diploma in data governance from the Universidad del CEMA in Argentina.

She is chair for Peru of the Latin American Privacy Association and member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals and the Network of Lawyers for a Digital Peru.
