Colombia’s Cáez Muñoz Mejía rebrands as CMM Abogados

The incorporation of A&G Abogados brings with it the inclusion into the firm’s practice portfolio of real estate and urban planning law, which broadens the firm’s offering to its clients, and implies the incorporation of partners Patricia Acosta and Natalia Gaviria and their team into CMM.

“We are excited to work with our new partners and their team,” the law firm said in a statement.

“This is more than just a nominal change, as it reflects the coherence regarding how we think and how we work, and it is a change that empowers us and opens the door to diversity, new practices and new teams,” the firm said.

Patricia Acosta was a founding partner of A&G Abogados, founded in 2018. In parallel to launching the firm, she worked as an independent attorney specializing in real estate law and urban planning. She has also held the position of associate in the real estate practice of Colombian law firm Gómez-Pinzón Zuleta.

She holds a law degree and a specialization in urban law from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, and a master’s degree in urban planning law from University College London.

For her part, Natalia Gaviria, who was also a founding partner at A&G Abogados, has also held the position of legal director at Sociedad Fondo Inmobilario, and academic coordinator for further education at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, as well as senior lawyer at Banco de Occidente.

She also holds a law degree and a specialization in urban law from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, and a diploma in real estate law from the same university.

CMM Abogados was founded by Guillermo Cáez Gómez and Alejandro Mejía, who remain as the firm’s founding partners. The firm now has a team of nine partners and 30 associates.
