White & Case announces largest partner promotion round in three years

Posté le 20 oct. 2025

White & Case has announced a significant partner promotion round, naming 45 new partners across its global network — the firm’s largest internal promotion class since 2021.

Effective January 1, 2026, the new cohort spans 12 practice areas and 20 offices across 14 countries, further consolidating the firm’s global footprint. With these additions, White & Case’s partnership will exceed 800 partners worldwide.

A truly global cohort

The promotions include 12 partners in the United States, 28 across EMEA, and 5 in Asia-Pacific.
“This year’s class reflects the strength of our global practices and growing client demand across key industries,” said Heather McDevitt, Chair of White & Case. “Each new partner has demonstrated the cross-border collaboration that defines our culture and enables our clients’ success.”

London at the heart of the growth

The London office stands out with nine new partners, up from three last year — a clear signal of the firm’s investment in its UK platform. The move follows a string of strategic lateral hires, including Helen Croke from Ropes & Gray and Arun Birla and Jiten Tank from Paul Hastings.

“We see strength and growth through both internal promotions and strategic laterals,” noted Carina Radford, member of the firm’s Executive Committee. “There’s no perfect balance — both are essential to sustain momentum and show our people a clear path forward.”

A message of continuity and ambition

While some firms have adopted a more cautious approach — Kirkland & Ellis, for instance, announced no partner promotions this year — White & Case reaffirms its commitment to recognizing internal talent and strategic expansion in key sectors such as finance, energy, and international arbitration.

This promotion round underscores the firm’s continued investment in its global leadership and its ambition to strengthen its position as a key player among the world’s elite law firms.
