Germany managing partner Grosch has been with Quinn Emanuel for 12 years and opened its first German office in Mannheim back in 2010. He will split his time between Berlin, Mannheim and Munich, and will be joined by an associate in Berlin. In the long term, the firm wants to build a team of ten lawyers in the German capital.
One of the firm’s main goals is to recruit young talent. Grosch says, “In our view, the applicant market in the federal capital is better, because the density of large law firms is lower and the number of qualified graduates tends to be higher than in comparable locations”.
Quinn Emanuel’s core focus in Germany includes intellectual property, commercial litigation, finance, regulatory, and competition litigation work. The German practice largely focuses on high-volume patent litigation for Daimler, BASF, Google and Qualcomm.
