PwC Portugal appoints 11 new partners

PwC Portugal has announced the appointment of 11 new partners: Carlos Jerónimo (advisory), Fernando Lança Martins (legal), Gonçalo Leite Monteiro (assurance), Iolanda Gonçalves (assurance), José Miguel Teixeira (assurance), Luís Corte-Real (advisory), Mariana Pizarro Santos (tax), Nuno Melo Loureiro (advisory – Data & AI), Roberto Bilro Mendes (assurance – financial services risk & regulation), Tiago Silva Abade (legal), and Tito Tavares (advisory – digital transformation and PMO).

PwC Portugal has announced the appointment of 11 new partners, on strategic areas including technology, consulting, audit, tax, and legal, highlighting the firm’s continued focus on creating sustainable value for its clients.

The newly appointed partners are Carlos Jerónimo (advisory), Fernando Lança Martins (legal), Gonçalo Leite Monteiro (assurance), Iolanda Gonçalves (assurance), José Miguel Teixeira (assurance), Luís Corte-Real (advisory), Mariana Pizarro Santos (tax), Nuno Melo Loureiro (advisory – Data & AI), Roberto Bilro Mendes (assurance – financial services risk & regulation), Tiago Silva Abade (legal), and Tito Tavares (advisory – digital transformation and PMO).

Carlos Jerónimo has a degree in Industrial Management Engineering, he brings over 25 years of experience leading digital and business transformation projects. He has held executive positions at SAP, Qlik Software, Reditus, and Glintt. Currently, he leads the Advisory Business Transformation practice for non-financial clients in Portugal, Angola, and Mozambique and is responsible for PwC Portugal’s SAP Alliance.

Fernando Lança Martins holds a Law degree from Universidade Católica Portuguesa with a postgraduate degree in Tax Management from ISEG, he joined PwC as Head of Tax Controversy & Dispute Resolution in September 2024. He specializes in tax inspections and litigation at national and EU levels. He is also a frequent speaker and contributor to tax publications.

Gonçalo Leite Monteiro is a certified auditor, and holds a degree in Business Management and a postgraduate degree in Advanced Accounting and Taxation. He has been with PwC since 2006, focusing on audit services across a range of sectors, especially Real Estate, Transportation, and Agribusiness.

Iolanda Gonçalves is an economist and certified auditor. She joined PwC in 2009 and provides audit services to national and international clients in sectors such as engineering, construction, retail, agrifood, and tourism.

José Miguel Teixeira holds a degree in Economics from the University of Porto and is specialized in fraud management. Teixeira is a Certified Fraud Examiner, Internal Auditor, and Risk Assurance expert. At PwC since 2009, he now leads the Internal Audit & Data Analytics practice across Portugal, Angola, and Mozambique.

 

 

 

Luís Corte-Real: holds a dregree in Economics and a master’s in International Economics, Luís joined PwC in 2021. He leads the firm’s Strategic Alliance with Salesforce across Portugal and several Lusophone African countries.

Mariana Pizarro Santos is a business management graduate with an executive master’s in auditing, she is active in PwC’s EMEA Transfer Pricing networks and teaches postgraduate and executive MBA courses in her field of expertise.

Nuno Melo Loureiro: has a management degree from Nova SBE and a master’s from Católica Lisbon SBE, and he leads PwC’s Data & AI practice in Portugal and Lusophone Africa. He specializes in data transformation, predictive analytics, and AI-driven business solutions.

Roberto Bilro Mendes has a Law degree and multiple postgraduate qualifications in corporate governance and finance,and focuses on commercial, banking, and financial markets law, particularly compliance, culture, and internal controls. Roberto heads the Financial Services Risk & Regulation area at PwC and co-leads PwC’s global SSM EBA Office for Compliance & AML. He is a published author and frequent lecturer.

Tiago Silva Abade holds degrees and postgraduation in international tax planning, corporate and public law, with studies at Münster University and Católica Lisbon. Abade coordinates PwC’s Public, Regulatory & Data Protection practice and has worked with both public and private entities in Portugal and Africa. He has contributed to legislative reforms, including GDPR-related laws.

Tito Tavares is an economist with 17 years of experience in digital transformation and PMO, Tavares is certified in SAP and Microsoft tech. He has led major IT projects in Portugal and several African countries, with a focus on the financial and oil & gas sectors. He is also a visiting professor at Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
