Peruvian ticket sales startup Joinnus has sold100% of its shares to Peruvian financial holding company Grupo Credicorp, a move the former describes as “a key factor for the ticketing company to reaffirm its leadership and Grupo Credicorp to expand its product portfolio”.

Joinnus is a Peruvian startup founded in 2013 that provides event ticket sales and facilitates the creation, promotion and management of events through its online platform.

Joinnus is led by its founding partners, Carolina Botto and Domingo Seminario, and has Grupo RPP, UTEC Ventures and Wayra as shareholders.

Following the acquisition, Joinnus will continue working with the same team and leadership of its founders.

"The combination of Joinnus and Credicorp Group will allow us to continue our leadership and increase our ability to provide comprehensive solutions to our users and organizers,” the company said in a statement.

“This operation is good news for startups, accelerators, incubators and investors. In general, this transaction is a good precedent for collaboration between corporations and companies in the Peruvian entrepreneurial ecosystem," said Carolina Botto and Domingo Seminario, founding partners of Joinnus.

Grupo Credicorp, a Peruvian financial holding company, through its corporate venture capital firm Krealo, has invested in several fintechs and startups in the Andean region, including Culqi, Wally, Samishop, Tenpo, Monokera and tyba.

This latest transaction represents Credicorp Group's commitment to innovation and digitization.

APOYO Finanzas Corporativas, a boutique law firm focused on investment banking with more than 25 years of experience in the financial advisory market, advised Joinnus on the sale.

The firm accompanied Joinnus in negotiations with Credicorp Group, and "this operation highlights the momentum of fintechs and startups in Peru and its importance for strategic and corporate players”, the firm said.

“It is good news that will allow us to energize more and more the Peruvian entrepreneurship ecosystem. This transaction shows the importance of effective collaboration between Peruvian startups and investment banks to achieve the best terms in the negotiation between sellers and buyers,” the firm added.

“At APOYO Finanzas Corporativas, we are committed to energizing the ecosystem and we hope to collaborate with more entrepreneurs in the country," Eduardo Campos, partner of APOYO Finanzas Corporativas and Mauricio Concha Zegarra, senior vice president at the firm, said in a joint statement.
