Pérez-Llorca strengthens its presence in Lisbon with the addition of Cristina Vergueiro as Senior International Counsel in the Corporate, Private Equity and Infrastructure practice areas.
With nearly twenty years of experience in these sectors across Latin America, Vergueiro enhances the firm’s ability to handle complex M&A transactions and large-scale projects. Her arrival broadens the Lisbon office’s international reach in the Latin American market, enabling even stronger support for private and corporate clients with interests in the region.
Throughout her career, she has taken part in all stages of the investment cycle: fund structuring, capital raising, acquisition and divestment transactions, as well as the oversight and development of portfolio companies. Her background also includes designing governance, risk management and compliance frameworks in sectors such as logistics, energy, transport and pharmaceuticals in several Latin American countries. She has also worked in crisis management and arbitration, and served on the boards of various portfolio companies.
Vérgueiro holds a law degree from the University of São Paulo Law School and is a member of the Brazilian Bar Association.
“Cristina brings a deep understanding of the private equity industry and the dynamics of infrastructure investments. Her expertise will enable us to provide clients with strong legal solutions for complex M&A transactions and the advancement of projects in key sectors such as energy, transport and logistics.” stated Gonçalo Capela Godinho, Country Chair of Pérez-Llorca in Portugal.
Her arrival strengthens Pérez-Llorca’s cross-boarder positioning, with particular focus on projects connected to Portuguese-speaking and Latin American markets, notably Brazil.
