MSCI Acquires Swiss Index Provider Compass Financial Technologies

MSCI Inc., a leading global financial services provider, has acquired Compass Financial Technologies SA, a Swiss firm specializing in index calculations for alternative and multi-asset classes. The commercial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Compass Financial Technologies is recognized for its expertise in designing and calculating indexes for commodities, cryptocurrencies, and other alternative investments.

The acquisition is a strategic move for MSCI, best known for global benchmarks such as the MSCI World index. The integration of the Swiss provider strengthens MSCI’s ability to create, calculate, and customize indexes across a highly diverse array of asset classes, bringing together global equities, fixed income, commodities, digital assets, currencies, and derivatives under one umbrella.
