Morgan & Morgan Announces New Partners

The new partners will strengthen the labor law and immigration departments of the firm.

The Panamanian firm announced three new partners on June 12th, Ricardo Aleman, Albalira Montufar and María Teresa Mendoza. Ricardo and Albalira will head the department of labor law, while Maria will lead the immigration practice.

 

Ricardo Aleman: He graduated in law at Louisiana State University in 1969 and specialized in labor law at Panama University in 1974. His career started in 1971 as a partner of Afra, where he worked for 29 years. A notable highlight of his career occurred in 2004, when he became the Ambassador of Panama in Mexico, a position he held until 2009.

 

Albalira Montufar: She graduated in law at Panama University in 2004 and earned a master’s degree in negotiation, management and execution of commercial treaties, at the Latin American University of Foreign Commerce. In 2006, she obtained another master’s degree, this time in international law, at George Washington University. Her previous experience as a partner consists of four years working at BDS Asesores in Panama. She started in 2013 and ended her partnership in 2017, prior to moving to Morgan & Morgan.

 

Maria Teresa Mendoza: She graduated in law and political sciences in 1992, at Santa Maria la Antigua University and specialized in commercial law in 1994, at Los Andes University. In 1997, she returned to Santa Maria la Antigua University and specialized in labor law. Her experience as a partner began in 1994 with the firm Mendoza, Arias, Valle & Castillo. She worked there for 19 years, before moving to MMA Abogados, in 2013. Her partnership with MMA ended in 2017, after she moved to Morgan & Morgan.
