Mexico’s Galicia Abogados names new partner

Maruca joined the firm in 2006 as an intern and in 2009 was promoted to associate in the capital markets and banking and finance teams.
She specializes in domestic and international debt and equity offerings, regulatory compliance and general advice to issuers and institutional investors in connection with securities and investment regulations. In addition, her work also focuses on local and cross-border bank financing, representing both borrowers and financial institutions.
She received her law degree with honors from the Escuela Libre de Derecho in Mexico City, and holds an LLM from the University of Chicago Law School.
She worked as a foreign associate at an internationally renowned law firm based in New York and at the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in San José, Costa Rica.
As January 2023, the firm’s capital markets and banking and finance teams are comprised of seven partners and more than 20 attorneys, bringing the firm’s total partner count to 37, with more than 149 legal professionals on the team at the Mexico City-based firm.
