Mexico’s Chávez Vargas Minutti adds new partner

Luis is an expert in the areas of capital markets, alternative assets and fintech, and has more than 15 years of experience in capital markets, private equity and venture capital.

He has participated in several issues of development trust certificates (CKDes) and investment project trust certificates (CERPIS) of private equity funds since 2009. He is currently participating in the legal structuring of new issues of Development Capital Certificates (CKDs) and Investment Project Certificates (CERPIS).

Additionally, he has participated in programs for the issuance of Certificates of financial leasing companies and automotive and transportation financing companies in general, which have been aimed at securitization of collection rights.

He has represented and advised private equity funds in transactions to carry out mergers and acquisitions of national and foreign companies, including due diligence processes, as well as restructuring.

Luis joins the firm from Basila Abogados, where he held the position of partner between 2015 and 2023.

He holds a law degree from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and a diploma in fintech and disruptive technologies from the ITAM.

Chávez Vargas Minutti was founded in 2010 as Chávez Vargas Abogados, and changed its name in 2018. The firm focuses on corporate finance, capital markets, private equity, mergers, acquisitions and energy and infrastructure practices, and it has since established itself as one of the leading law firms in the country.
