José Eduardo Pieri Joins Palma Guedes Advogados

In early September, Rio-based law firm Palma Guedes Advogados announced the lateral hire of a new partner, notable IP and data protection attorney José Eduardo Pieri. 

Mr. Pieri will head the firm's newly-created technology practice and will focus on contentious and consultancy mandates involving industrial property, copyrights, privacy, data protection, advertising regulations and gaming matters. Moreover, he will also provide counsel on the management of trade mark portfolios, cybersecurity risks and international data transfers, amongst other subjects.

With 20 years of experience in the legal market, Mr. Pieri has previously worked at leading firms such as Dannemann Siemsen Advogados and BMA – Barbosa, Müssnich Aragão. Academically, he holds a Bachelor of Laws from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and an LL.M. from The John Marshall Law School (U.S.).
