Fátima Correia da Silva is the new Global Head of Compliance at Elementis

Fátima Correia da Silva has been appointed as the global head of compliance at Elementis, a global specialty chemicals company, being responsible for overseeing Elementis’ global compliance program.

Fátima Correia da Silva has been appointed as the global head of compliance at Elementis, a leading global specialty chemicals company, after more than four years at Critical TechWorks, a joint venture between Critical Software and BMW AG. Based in Porto, she will be responsible for overseeing Elementis’ global compliance program and further embedding the company’s compliance culture under the moto, “Integrity is our Specialty.”

Fátima is a highly experienced compliance professional with 17 years of expertise in compliance, anti-money laundering (AML), fraud investigations, and auditing. She began her legal career at Almeida Correia, Ney da Costa e Associados, specializing in sectors such as tax and banking law in Portugal. Her subsequent role at EY, which spanned over a decade, involved significant contributions to forensic investigations and compliance initiatives across EMEIA (Europe, Middle East, India, and Africa), as well as North and Latin America. This global exposure provided her with valuable insights into cross-border compliance and navigating complex regulatory landscapes.

Since 2020, Fátima has served as Chief Compliance Officer (CCO), General Counsel, and Data Protection Officer (DPO) at Critical TechWorks. Her leadership was instrumental in shaping compliance strategies within the rapidly evolving software development industry.

In addition to her new position at Elementis, Fátima holds key leadership roles as president of the Portuguese Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and as the country representative for the Association of Corporate Counsel in Portugal.
