Zurita brings two decades of global investigative, litigation, public policy, and law enforcement experience, with particular expertise in Latin America.
Before joining Nardello & Co., Zurita served at the Mexican embassy in Washington, where he was minister and lead liaison officer to international law enforcement agencies in North America.
While at the embassy, Zurita worked closely with international coalitions such as the United Nations, the InterAmerican Committee Against Terrorism, the Inter-American Council for Integral Development, and the Inter-American Convention against the Illicit Manufacturing and Trafficking of Firearms, Explosives, and Ammunition.
Most recently, he worked as a regional director focused on Latin America at a technology company. Zurita has led multi-language, multi-jurisdictional investigations and cybersecurity collaborations throughout the American continent.
He has in-depth knowledge of Latin America’s business and cultural landscape, honed over nearly 20 years of service in the Mexican federal government, including with the Supreme Court of Justice, the Attorney General’s Office, the Federal Police, and the National Security Commission.
Prior to his government service, Zurita worked as a lawyer, focusing on corporate law, criminal litigation, and intellectual property. He holds a JD from University Iberoamericana and an MBA from University Latinoamericana. Zurita is a native Spanish speaker and is conversant in French.
“We are thrilled to welcome Edgar, whose proven record leading transnational investigations will further bolster our global capabilities,” Dan Nardello, chairman and CEO of Nardello & Co., said.
“As the firm continues its expansion, Edgar’s nuanced understanding of Latin American government, policy and law enforcement will greatly benefit our clients doing business in the region and throughout the world.”
Zurita is the latest high-profile hire for Nardello & Co., which, in 2022, launched an office in Los Angeles (the firm’s seventh worldwide), and welcomed managing directors Howard Master, Chris Urben, and Chris Ribeiro in the US and Alan Kennedy and Daria Plakhova-Freshville in London.
“Nardello & Co.’s global platform and reputation for handling the most complex investigations make it an ideal fit for me,” Zurita said regarding his appointment.
Nardello & Co. handles a broad range of issues including civil and white-collar criminal litigation and arbitration support, due diligence, anti-corruption and fraud investigations, asset tracing, activist defense, political risk and strategic intelligence, digital investigations and cyber defense, and compliance consulting.
The firm’s clients include the world’s leading law firms and financial institutions, Fortune 500 and FTSE 100 companies, high-net-worth individuals and family offices, governments, NGOs, sports organizations, and academic and cultural institutions.
The firm has offices in New York, Washington DC, Los Angeles, London, Dubai, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
