Dispell Magic, the Italian company known for its AI-driven price intelligence platform Competitoor, has sold a majority stake to the Deda Group, a leading Italian technology group specializing in digital transformation.

Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Carpi, a town in the Modena province of northern Italy, Dispell Magic has established itself as a key player in the e-commerce sector, offering advanced solutions for price intelligence and competitive analysis. Its proprietary platform, Competitoor, leverages machine learning and deep learning technologies to perform complex tasks such as semantic data recognition and historical price fluctuation analysis.
The acquisition will enhance the capabilities of Deda Stealth, the Deda Group’s division focused on retail and e-commerce solutions.

Following the transaction, a minority stake in Dispell Magic/Competitoor will remain with its founder, Maximilian Lanaro, and the current CEO, Maurizio Catellani.

FIVERS Studio Legale e Tributario provided legal counsel to Dispell Magic and its shareholders throughout the sale process.

The team was led by Renato Giallombardo, partner and head of the Rome office, and included Luca Spagna, managing associate, and Gabriele Cianfanelli, trainee.

The Deda Group was advised by its general counsel, Gabriele Caruso.
