Deloitte Legal Appoints Five New Of Counsel

Deloitte Legal announces the appointment of Federica Caretta, Valentina Mattei, Federico Michelini, Federica Ronfini, and Laura Anna Tredwell as Of Counsel.

Federica Caretta joined Deloitte Legal in July 2018 as a Senior Associate in the Intellectual Property, Information Technology & Data Protection practice. Previously, she worked at a leading Italian law firm and at the Italian office of a major UK law firm, also in the IP, IT & Data Protection department.

Valentina Mattei joined Deloitte Legal in 2013 as an attorney. She specializes in commercial contracts, with particular expertise in IT procurement and civil and commercial litigation. She assists domestic and international clients in negotiating significant and complex commercial agreements and handles both judicial and extrajudicial defense for numerous Italian and foreign companies. Valentina started her career in a boutique law firm within the litigation department before joining Deloitte Legal.

Federico Michelini joined Deloitte Legal in 2022 as Managing Associate in the Corporate and M&A practice. An Italian-qualified lawyer, he specializes in transactional matters, with a focus on M&A (private equity, venture capital, and industrial transactions) and significant experience in equity capital markets operations, including IPOs and public tender offers. He also advises clients on corporate law, commercial matters, corporate governance, and complex commercial contracts. Before joining Deloitte Legal, Federico worked for over ten years at the Milan offices of two leading Italian business law firms and spent about a year in-house as General Counsel for a digital scale-up in the automotive sector.

Federica Ronfini joined Deloitte Legal in 2004. She specializes in corporate law/M&A, focusing on extraordinary transactions such as mergers, demergers, transformations, contributions, and transfers of shares and companies. She has extensive experience in complex corporate reorganizations and post-acquisition consolidation of Italian and international groups, managing both domestic and cross-border corporate aspects.

Laura Tredwell joined Deloitte Legal in 2019. An Italian-qualified lawyer with 20 years of experience, she assists clients in corporate and commercial matters, with a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions and other extraordinary transactions. She has significant experience in corporate restructurings, private equity operations, industrial M&A, and general corporate advice across a wide range of sectors.
