Colombia’s Serrano Martínez welcomes new partner

Colombian law firm Serrano Martínez has announced the arrival of Lorenzo Villegas-Carrasquilla as a new partner.

Lorenzo brings over 20 years of experience in technology regulation, telecommunications, data protection, and competition law, with a strategic and practical vision backed by his experience as a former commissioner and executive director of the CRC.

“His addition strengthens our leadership and capacity for strategic support in highly dynamic and constantly evolving sectors, reaffirming our commitment to offering comprehensive and specialized advice to our clients,” the firm said.

“With Lorenzo’s arrival, we are consolidating our technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) practice — a significant step in the firm’s evolution and in our vision to anticipate the legal challenges that are transforming business models in Colombia.”

Lorenzo joins the firm from CMS, where he held the position of head of the Latin American technology, media and communications group.

He holds a master´s degree in economy law from the Paris-Pantheon-Assas University, a law degree from the Universidad de los Andes, and he has completed studies such as an international training program on utility regulation and strategy law at the University of Florida.

Lorenzo joins the firm with his team, Paula Castaño Goubert, Ana Cortés González, Gabriela Cortés Lopez, and Maria Paula Dada.
