Climeworks has closed a financing round, raising USD 162 million in equity in what is the largest carbon removal investment of 2025 to date. The financing was co-led by BigPoint Holding and Partners Group.

Climeworks has closed a financing round, raising USD 162 million in equity in what is the largest carbon removal investment of 2025 to date. The financing was co-led by BigPoint Holding and Partners Group.

A global pioneer in direct air capture (DAC) technology, Climeworks is also a leading provider of holistic carbon removal portfolios. This latest financing brings the company's total funding since its inception to over USD 1 billion.

The investment round was co-led by BigPoint Holding and Partners Group, which acted on behalf of its clients. Further financial support was provided mainly by other existing investors.

Lenz & Staehelin advised Climeworks on the deal. The team was led by partner Beat Kühni (Corporate/M&A) and included Joël Rupp (Corporate/M&A), Julia Wepfer (Corporate/M&A), Dominik Florek (Corporate/M&A), and Patrick Schärli (Capital Markets).
