Naranjo Solano is rejoining the firm, having worked at Jara Del Favero as an attorney between 2017-18, prior to joining the Servicio de Evaluación Ambiental, the environmental monitoring agency, as head of its legal division.
He then served as environment minister between 2021-22, having held the position of undersecretary for the environment from 2020-21.
He has extensive experience in administrative and environmental law and holds a master's degree in Regulatory Law from Chile’s Pontificia Universidad Católica, as well as a degree in law from the Universidad Andrés Bello.
He also participated in the USAC Scholarship Program, studying English at the University of Nevada in the US.
“The need to incorporate environmental and climate variables in investment decisions, design or execution of projects is key to ensure the success of the performance of an idea," Naranjo said regarding his incorporation into the firm.
“Greater demand for citizen participation, the involvement of the public in oversight processes, as well as the framework law on climate change, the modification of the green tax, and the modification of the green tax and the creation of the carbon market, among others, requires that a legal strategy be in line with the new social, environmental and economic standards,” he said.
Santiago-based Jara Del Favero has more than 80 years’ experience serving local and international clients, with a team of more than 30 lawyers, of whom six are partners.
