Archetype leads $5.5 Million seed round for Austrian crypto startup TACEO
Posté le 12 août 2025

Founded in 2022 as a spin-off from Graz University of Technology and the AI research hub Know-Center, TACEO develops software that enables multiple parties to collaborate on sensitive datasets without revealing the underlying information. Its “private shared state” infrastructure addresses a challenge long considered unsolvable: reconciling strict data protection requirements with practical data usage.
The company’s technology has already been adopted by major international clients. World – the company founded by OpenAI co-founder Sam Altman – has been using TACEO’s solution for the past two years, underscoring both its commercial viability and technological innovation.
Archetype, based in New York, specializes in early-stage investments in crypto, Web3, and decentralized infrastructure. The seed funding is expected to accelerate TACEO’s product development and market expansion across Europe and beyond.
Business Law Powerhouse LARK provided comprehensive advice to Archetype on this transaction together with US law firm Cooley. Dr Daniel Gubitz and Dr Janosch Engelhardt (both Corporate Law/Venture Capital) led the transaction on LARK’s side.
