The California-headquartered firm is the most recent one to expand into China.

The Law Offices of Scott Warmuth opens an office in Beijing to serve as a hub to provide more comprehensive services to its strong base of Chinese clients both in the U.S. and in China.

Opened on August 1, the new office will primarily focus on immigration and intellectual property matters. Scott Warmuth, President of the firm, explained the motivation behind this move: “We are seeing a greater influx of business from China and anticipate that our physical presence will make it more convenient for our clients to interact with us and process their legal matters in a timely manner.”

The Law Offices of Scott Warmuth is an American legal practice specializing in the fields of personal injury, immigration, workers’ compensation, criminal defense and elder abuse. On top of three offices in California, the firm’s Beijing office is its first outside the U.S.

The last three months have witnessed a number of new entries into Asia Pacific: Quinn Emanuel settled in Shanghai (May 27), Bae, Kim & Lee opened a Hong Kong office (June 5), King & Spalding opened in Tokyo (June 16), EY law added a foreign law practice in Singapore (June 17), and Taylor Wessing is setting its eyes on Hong Kong (July 24).
