Local license granted after waiting since last October
EY’s affiliated law firm DA Partners has been granted a foreign law practice license in Singapore, which allows EY law to practice local law in Singapore for the first time.

Established last year by two EY partners John Dick and Evangelos Apostolou, DA Partners is a member of EY’s global network. The foreign law practice license comes eight months after EY first set foot in Singapore by adding local firm PK Wong & Associates to EY’s global network. After being granted for a foreign law practice license by Singapore’ Attorney General’s Chambers, DA Partner will be entitled to offer cross-border legal services to EY’s clients on top of existing local law offerings through PK Wong & Associates.

Dick, who will be leading DA Partners, said: ‘We view Singapore as a regional hub for providing cross-border legal services to clients operating in the ASEAN region. DA Partners enables us to offer more specialized legal services and resources in Singapore.’

Dick also said that EY’s ambition doesn’t stop in Singapore. EY’s object is ultimately to have a law firm presence in every ASEAN country.
