Who are the top female lawyers in Spanish private equity in 2022?
Posted on Mar 3, 2022

Spain’s female lawyers have undoubtedly come a long way since Ascensión Chirivella became the first female law graduate to practice as a lawyer in the country exactly one hundred years ago. Nevertheless, much work remains to be done. While women now represent the majority of members of the bar in Spain, they still represent only around 5% of the managing partners at firms and suffer from a salary gap of more than 20%.
And not all areas of the legal world have been equally accessible to women. In particular, the M&A, private equity, and venture capital legal sector in Spain has traditionally been dominated by men. Nevertheless, Leaders League has identified several women lawyers who are at the forefront of private equity transactions.
