Gender parity is still a pending matter for most private equity funds in Spain. The number of women is significantly smaller than that of men, especially in management positions.
According to market data from Level 20, a non-profit organization that supports women in private equity, in 2019 only 6% of senior positions in the private equity industry worldwide were held by women. Spain was no exception. The industry is developing more initiatives on the European level to encourage more women to pursue careers in private equity and finance.
