Sidley adds partner in Miami to grow M&A, PE practice
Law firm Sidley has announced the incorporation of Juan Delgado as a global M&A and private equity partner in Miami in a bid to grow the practice.
Prior to joining Sidley, Delgado, who is a native of Miami, served as a corporate partner at Morrison & Foerster.
Also joining the global M&A and private equity at Sidley in Miami from that firm is managing associate Axel Miranda.
Delgado advises domestic and international corporate clients on a wide range of mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, and financing transactions. He also regularly represents private equity sponsors in venture and growth equity investments.
Much of his practice is in Latin America and cross-border focused.
“The expansion of our global M&A and private equity practice will be boosted by Juan’s experience handling deals and working with clients in Latin America,” said Brian Fahrney, global co-leader of the firm’s global M&A and private equity practice and a member of Sidley’s management and executive committees.
“Juan is another example of capitalizing on our new presence in Miami to help identify and attract world-class talent to the firm,” he added.
For her part, Yvette Ostolaza, Sidley’s management committee chair, said: “Juan’s fluency in Spanish, along with his experience with cross-border deals will be a great addition to our growing team in South Florida”.
“Juan and Axel have worked together successfully on major matters, which will help facilitate a seamless transition of Juan’s practice to our platform,” she added.
Sidley’s private equity practice, with more than 285 lawyers around the world, offers full-service transaction support working with private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies.
Sidley is an elite global law firm with US$3 billion in revenue powered by lawyers who practice at the highest level of the profession. With a 156-year history, the firm has a roster of more than 2,100 lawyers.
