PRA creates new economic unit dedicated to health, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology
Partner Daniel Torres Gonçalves will be responsible for PRA’s new economic unit dedicated to health, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology.

The law firm PRA – Raposo, Sá Miranda & Associados has created a new economic unit for health, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology. The new unit will “continue to reinforce technical skills in specific areas based on the experience of those who lead them.” Partner Daniel Torres Gonçalves will head the practice area.
“The impact that health-related matters have had in our lives serve as a reminder of the importance of this issue. Health has long been a fundamental sector of the economy, as demonstrated by the investment involved," said Torres.
According to Torres, the new unit will cover various aspects of health from matters related to regulation, licensing, and conventions, to medical negligence and contracts involving health care providers, as well as authorizations for the introduction of new pharmaceuticals on the market, medical cannabis, clinical trials, food supplements, and cosmetics.
“Particular importance will be placed on medical devices, which are a very dynamic area, including wearables, apps, and artificial intelligence. PRA closely monitors these healthcare technologies with regard to issues such as licensing, intellectual property, and confidentiality and exclusivity agreements,” he added.
The new economic unit joins the Transport, Entertainment, Bodily Injury, and Asset Management economic units.
