Pharumlegal Recruits Marc Picat to Boost Its EU law practice

Belgian firm Pharumlegal recently hired Marc Picat in Brussels to enhance its expertise in EU regulated market.

Belgian firm Pharumlegal recently hired Marc Picat in Brussels to enhance its expertise in EU regulated market.

Picat has substantial experience in Belgian, European and competition law, especially in the context of merger control, notifications, antitrust, state aid cases and investigations. On the commercial front, Parc routinely advises clients on the drafting and negotiation of a wide range of contracts such as selective distribution and franchising agreements. He also represents them in litigation or arbitration when disputes arise. Picat will also head the French Desk.

Prior to joining Pharumlegal, Picat acted as managing partner at AB Legal.


This lateral hire follows the recruitment of Guy Van Habberney as Senior Economic and Political Adviser on Belgian and EU-USA relations in March 2019. Van Habberney had previously worked as Economic Adviser at the US Embassy in Brussels for over 30 years. These two hires represent a significant boost to the firm’s international presence and capacities from Brussels. The team now has the EU regulatory and transatlantic expertise to assist EU clients and US clients with a broad range of matters.
