Peru’s Viera Abogados names three new of counsel

The three appointees are experts in real estate litigation, judicial proceedings and arbitration, respectively.
As part of its growth strategy and diversification of practices, the firm announced the incorporation of the three new counsel, and who will provide a specialized and complementary vision from different areas of law.
The new of counsel will strengthen the real estate and litigation management, the technical analysis of the judicial process and tax/regulatory administrative litigation and domestic and foreign arbitration, respectively.
With more than 25 years of experience and leading large-scale national infrastructure projects. Andrés Arbe Schinkel specializes in physical-legal property reorganization, land adjudication, strategic property management, defense of territorial rights and resolution of complex conflicts.
Andrés has worked at a national level, leading with excellence regularization processes in areas of high social and legal conflict. He has worked for firms such as Miranda & Amado, for more than 14 years, among others.
"I am excited to join a team that combines legal excellence with a strategic vision of litigation. From my experience, I aspire to strengthen the territorial approach in judicial processes and conflict prevention," he said.
For her part, Hilda Flor de María Sancarranco Cáceda is a former Superior Judge of the Superior Court of Justice of Lima, has more than 30 years of experience in the judiciary. Her experience in civil, contentious-administrative and tax law represents an added value for the firm, by providing a technical approach from a jurisdictional perspective.
“After years in the judiciary, I assume this new role from private practice with the commitment to contribute to the technical strengthening of the firm's procedural strategy,” she said.
New of counsel Renzo Saavedra Velazco brings more than 18 years of experience in arbitration practice. He has advised companies in sectors such as mining, retail, telecommunications and pharmaceuticals. He specializes in corporate advisory, contract management, risk assessment and arbitration.
"Dispute resolution through arbitration has been consolidated in the Peruvian legal and commercial market. Therefore, joining a team with such a solid experience in litigation as Viera Abogados will allow me to represent our clients with greater specialization," he said.
He previously worked at Hernández & Cía, Payet, Rey, Cauvi & Pérez and Osterling Abogados, among others, and he has also developed a solid academic career as a professor in universities in Peru and abroad, and is the author of specialized publications in private law and arbitration, adding a strategic and practical perspective in the management of complex litigation.
He is also an arbitrator and legal expert in Arbitration Centers such as the Lima Chamber of Commerce, the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru and the Peruvian Soccer Federation, and has served as a sponsoring lawyer in national and international arbitration cases.
