Peru’s Lazo Abogados incorporates new partner

Luis Ernesto has a strong track record in corporate finance transactions, both local and cross-border. His experience ranges from financings, debt issuances and project finance, to financial services and insurance regulation, derivatives, fintech, and the digital transformation of regulated entities.

With more than 15 years of professional experience, Luis Ernesto joins Lazo Abogados after having been a partner at Porto Legal, a legal boutique specialized in technology, telecommunications, and technology transactions.

Prior to that, he was Of Counsel at Estudio Echecopar, a member firm of Baker McKenzie, where he held a senior position in the corporate finance and financial services and insurance regulation practice and led the fintech practice.

He has also worked as legal counsel in the legal vice-presidency of Scotiabank Peru and as a lawyer in the legal division of Banco de Crédito del Peru.
