Ontier adds 2 partners in Lima
Posted on Jun 18, 2026

These two additions align with Ontier's growth strategy in Latin America, aiming to build top-tier practices with a regional focus and genuine synergies with the firm's other geographic locations and areas of expertise.
Both partners bring solid track records, complementary specializations, and a shared vision: to make the Peruvian office a benchmark in the Latin American legal ecosystem.
Luis Ernesto Marín joins Ontier Peru as a partner in the corporate practice, bringing with him approximately 20 years of experience advising financial institutions, insurance companies, Fintech firms, and corporations on a wide range of regulatory and transactional matters.
His practice encompasses financial services regulation, corporate finance, banking, fintech, capital markets, derivatives, insurance law, and M&As.
Throughout his career, he has participated in corporate and financial transactions with aggregate amounts exceeding $2.5 billion, including bilateral and syndicated financings, structured finance, project finance, and securities issuances in domestic and international markets.
A graduate of the Universidad Pontificia Católica de Perú, and recognized in leading international legal directories, Luis Ernesto is also a university professor at ESAN, where he teaches banking law and financial regulation, as well as commercial contracts and civil and commercial guarantees.
Before joining Ontier, he developed his career at top-tier firms, including Rubio Leguía Normand and Baker McKenzie.
His move to Ontier stems from the opportunity to lead something more ambitious: an integrated practice that combines technical expertise with a genuine focus on the client's business, positioning the Lima office as a benchmark in the financial and corporate segment of the Peruvian legal market.
Rodrigo Peláez joins Ontier Peru as a partner specializing in administrative law, with a solid track record advising and representing companies in both the public and private sectors.
His experience encompasses consumer law, free and fair competition, bureaucratic barriers, insolvency law, intellectual property, and data protection. At the administrative and judicial levels, he has served companies in the retail, banking, food, real estate, and airport sectors, providing efficient solutions and close support based on a deep understanding of each client's specific needs.
Rodrigo's addition strengthens Ontier Peru's litigation and regulatory capabilities and creates direct synergies with the financial services and fintech regulation practice led by Luis Ernesto, offering clients comprehensive coverage from operations to contingency planning.
These two additions are part of Ontier's business plan for Peru and the firm's global strategy to strengthen its Latin American offices. Ontier has a presence in Spain, Italy, Venezuela, Chile, Peru, Mexico, Bolivia, the UK and the Middle East.
