Nadia Darwazeh and David Meheut elected managing partners of Clyde & Co’s Paris office

To replace Gildas Rostein as the managing partner of its Paris office, Clyde & Co. has turned to Nadia Darwazeh and David Meheut.

A changing of the guard has taken place at the Paris branch of Clyde & Co, with Nadia Darwazeh and David Meheut elected as joint managing partners to succeed Gildas Rostein.

Nadia Darwazeh has over twenty years of commercial arbitration expertise. Her areas of specialization extend to mergers and acquisitions, construction, telecoms, pharmaceutical products, energy and natural resources.

Having joined Clyde & Co in 2018, Darwazeh has played an integral role in the development of the firm’s international arbitration activities, in the transport, insurance and construction sectors notably. She heads a team of 15 and is active in matters across the globe.

A former secretary general of the Jerusalem Arbitration Center, Nadia Darwazeh has worked at leading law firms in France, the UK and China. She began her career at Shearman & Sterling in 2001, moving to the Shanghai office of O'Melveny & Myers five years later. In 2009, she moved to Paris to take up a counsel role at the International Chamber of Commerce. In 2012, she returned to private practice with Curtis Mallet-Prevost Colt & Mosle. A member of the Paris Bar since 2004, she has an LL.M from Cambridge and LL.B from The University of Warwick. 

David Meheut has spent his entire career at Clyde & Co, having joined in 2005. He is co-head of the Paris branch’s insurance practice and has particular expertise in political risks, credit risks, reinsurance, professional liability, and directors’ and officers’ liability. A new technologies and data security expert, he was instrumental in the establishment of the firm’s cyber risk team in Paris.      

Meheut is also active in international arbitration, his arbitration practice encompassing commercial litigation, notably litigation related to joint ventures and distribution. Among his clients we find insurers and reinsurers, financial institutions, industrial groups and energy sector companies. 

A member of the Paris Bar since 2004, David Meheut has an LL.B in French and English law from King’s College London, on top of a double masters, in French and European Union law from Pantheon-Assas University.
