Minsait (Indra) purchases 70% of the Italian company Smartpaper

Minsait, Indra's information technology unit, has acquired 70% of the Italian company SmartPaper, which specializes in digital document management solutions and services.

Minsait, Indra's information technology unit, has acquired 70% of the Italian company SmartPaper, which specializes in digital document management solutions and services.


The agreement includes the integration of 100% of its subsidiaries Baltik and Smartest. In total, the group has more than 1,000 employees. This transaction reinforces the company's presence in the Italian 'Business Process Outsourcing' (BPO) market.

SmartPaper is an Italian company specializing in the design, implementation, and management of solutions for digital document storage and processing that expects to exceed €40m in sales by 2021.

After the signing, SmartPaper will maintain its executive management reporting to Minsait's management in Italy, which guarantees the continuity of the management model.

In Italy, Minsait has over 1,200 professionals distributed throughout the territory. Thanks to the partnership with SmartPaper, the companies have more than 2,200 employees with a strong presence in the South of the country, where they have six production centers.

An ONTIER team has advised Minsait on the transaction composed of Italy's founding partner Luca Pardo, senior associate Giulio Ciompi and Tommaso Piccinetti.
