Mexican law firm Rivero Lemus Abogados launches

The boutique firm launches in response to the growing number of cases related to fintech, privacy and data protection, and new technology laws in Mexico and amid increasing demand to address clients’ needs in such matters.

Currently, Luis Mario leads the firm supported by three key associates: Paula Gómez Madrigal, Jaime Frías Badillo, and Víctor Tubilla.

The incorporation of one partner and two associates is expected in the coming months.

Luis Mario brings extensive experience with over 16 years in the industry and is recognized as a leader in business law, innovation and technology, financial law and fintech in Latin America.

He has advised clients on financial, corporate, and technology projects across Latin America, in the process of getting the governmental authorizations for financial institutions, as well as in their compliance and operational management.

As a partner at Calderón & de la Sierra since 2016, he led the areas of technology law, privacy, data protection, corporate law, fintech and financial law.

Luis Mario holds a degree in law from the Universidad Anáhuac and a master's degree in business law with honors from the Universidad Panamericana in Mexico.

Furthermore, he serves as a professor at some of the most prestigious universities in Mexico, including the Escuela Libre de Derecho, Tecnológico de Monterrey, Universidad Panamericana, and the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), among others.

Additionally, he is an active member of several national and international associations, including the International Technology Law Association (ITechLaw), International Trademark Association, American Chamber of Commerce, The International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), ANADE, and others.

Luis Mario also holds a position on the board of the Faculty of Law at Universidad Anahuac in Mexico.
