Marcelo Perlman Launches Mediation Boutique

In late March, Marcelo Perlman launched his own mediation boutique, Perlman Mediation and Legal Strategies.

On March 31st, distinguished lawyer Marcelo Perlman sent shockwaves throughout the legal market by announcing his departure from PVG – Perlman, Vidigal, Godoy Advogados as well as the foundation of his own mediation boutique, Perlman Mediation and Legal Strategies.

 

Mr. Perlman worked for almost 10 years at PVG, as one of its three founding partners, and boasts 20 years of experience as a legal practitioner. He focuses on commercial mediation as well as strategic legal advisory, including matters related to complex business disputes and transactions, such as corporate governance and restructuring proceedings.

 

Academically, Mr. Perlman holds a Bachelor of Laws from Universidade de São Paulo (USP), a specialization degree in Economics and Corporate Law from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) and an LL.M. from the University of Chicago. Additionally, he is Vice-President of the Board of Officers at Hospital Albert Einstein as well as Co-Chair of the Creditor’s Rights Subcommittee of the Insolvency Section at the International Bar Association (IBA).

 

Based in São Paulo, his new firm will focus on key practice areas such as corporate and M&A, insolvency and infrastructure. According to Mr. Perlman: “In the past years, mediation has become a relevant part of my professional practice. By means of mediation, different projects and cases in which I have worked found an effective solution for ongoing complex, time-consuming and distressing disputes, and have had relevant value unleashed for parties and potential investors. Leveraged by my 20 years of experience in legal practice in the business environment, I have decided to focus my professional activities on acting as a mediator and advisor on legal strategies.”
