Hotel Bauer relaunch completed through certified restructuring plan
Posted on Aug 6, 2025

The restructuring plan of Bauer S.r.l., owner of the historic Hotel Bauer in Venice, has been successfully certified pursuant to Article 56 of the Italian Business Crisis Code. The transaction concluded positively with the completion of the company’s relaunch process, safeguarding one of the most iconic properties in Venetian and Italian hospitality.
Founded in 1880, the Hotel Bauer has long been a symbol of luxury hospitality in the heart of Venice. Overlooking the Grand Canal and just steps from St. Mark’s Square, the building has stood for more than a century, hosting royalty, celebrities, and international figures. Its elegant architecture, combining Venetian neo-Gothic style with Art Deco elements, is an integral part of the city’s cultural and urban heritage. Following the cross-border insolvency declaration of the Austrian group Signa, the hotel’s former owner, the Hotel Bauer also risked being affected by the crisis.
Thanks to a complex financial and real estate operation, ownership of Bauer S.r.l. was transferred to the Mohari Hospitality Group, in collaboration with Omnam Investment Group — two leading players in the international high-end hospitality sector. The plan also included the refinancing of the transaction by a pool of financial institutions, and the launch of the final phase of the building’s renovation, which will soon reopen to guests under the highest standards of luxury tourism.
Bauer S.r.l. was supported by Bureau Plattner. The certification process of the restructuring plan was led by Prof. Marcello Pollio, supported by a team composed by Filippo Pongiglione, Francesco Rizzo, and Angelo Sica.
