Holcim Mexico acquires local hardware wholesaler INDAR

Holcim Mexico, which offers innovative and sustainable building solutions, has announced the acquisition of INDAR, a leading hardware wholesaler in the midwestern region of Mexico.

The acquisition of INDAR is in line with the Holcim Group's strategy of expanding its portfolio with products and services that provide comprehensive solutions for the construction industry, Holcim said in a statement.

Through its acquisition of INDAR, Holcim will supply the market under a retail and retailer approach, focused on specialized attention and competitive prices with the integration of one fulfillment center in Guadalajara and nine crossroads centers around the country.

Holcim's customers will therefore be able to access more than 10,600 additional hardware products to its range of solutions through its Disensa retail network. In addition to boosting the positioning of cement products within the hardware market.

As part of this new phase of the company, Leyla Magallan was appointed CEO of INDAR, and who said her commitment is “to strengthen and consolidate the projects that have made this business great throughout these 35 years”.

“This effort will help us continue to position ourselves not only in the hardware industry, but also in the group's complete strategy for construction materials and solutions,” she added.

This acquisition is in line with Holcim Mexico's commitment that, together with Disensa, will strengthen its offering, thus providing construction materials and solutions and a complete value proposition, “with the highest quality, shopping experience and service,” the company said.

In line with the 2025 strategy for "Accelerating Green Growth", Holcim’s goal is to increase the group's net sales in solutions and products to 30%, boosting the sale of bagged cement and the marketing of Holcim products such as Gacoflex, ECOPlanet, among others, the company said.

The acquisition represents the integration of 420 employees who will become part of Holcim Mexico and the increase of its construction solutions offering thanks to the inclusion of more than 80 leading INDAR brands in the country, with which it supplies the hardware market as part of its comprehensive solutions strategy.

INDAR was advised on the acquisition by FGA Investment Banking, and which acknowledged the ”indispensable support” in the process of Holcim’s strategic planning and M&A director, Beatriz Elena Serna Ortiz, and Eduardo González Irías, a partner at Mexican law firm Creel, García-Cuéllar, Aiza y Enríquez.
