Greenberg Traurig grows Latin America practice in Miami
Law firm Greenberg Traurig has announced the addition of Henry R. Roque as a shareholder in its Latin America practice in Miami.
Roque rejoins the firm from Holland & Knight, and represents clients in mergers and acquisitions, cross-border transactions, private equity deals, joint ventures, and other commercial business arrangements across a variety of industries with a particular focus on health care, and worked as an M&A legal secondee at Sheridan Healthcare in 2016.
He also advises businesses on corporate governance matters. Henry also has experience representing insureds and underwriters in connection with the issuance of representations and warranties insurance policies.
Antonio Peña, corporate shareholder and co-chair of the Latin America practice, said: “The strategic expansion of our team is a direct response to increased client demand in both the number and volume of transactions. The last three years have been the busiest and most successful for the Latin America Practice, as we work with existing and new clients on matters throughout the region.”
Roque holds an LLM in taxation from New York University School of Law, and was the graduate editor of NYU’s Journal of Law & Business. In addition, he holds a JD cum laude from the American University Washington College of Law, and a BBA from the University of Miami.
Roque is admitted to practice in Florida, and says he plans to continue giving back to his community through pro bono work, including assisting Amigos for Kids, a Miami non-profit organization focused on serving disadvantaged and at-risk children.
Greenberg Traurig continues to grow and strengthen its Latin America practice, adding approximately 30 lawyers in practice areas where the firm is seeing demand from clients, including corporate, mergers and acquisitions, banking, finance, tax and international arbitration.
Recent additions to the Latin America team include Nathan M. Eisler, Leslie Palma and Monica Lopez-Rodriguez.
Roque, along with Seth J. Entin, Carol Barnhart and Geiza Vargas-Vargas, is one of four lawyers who have rejoined Greenberg Traurig in the past three years.
