Garrigues Integrates Mexican Firm Sánchez Devanny

Garrigues and the Mexican firm Sánchez Devanny, a full-service consulting firm with nearly 30 years of history, have reached an agreement to integrate before the end of the year. Garrigues will hold 100% ownership of the resulting entity, Garrigues Mexico.

The integration of both firms, which are complementary in terms of areas of activity and geographic presence, will create one of the largest law firms in Mexico, with nearly 160 professionals (including partners) and offices in Mexico City, Monterrey, and Querétaro. The operation will also bring significant synergies from combining Garrigues’ international strength – with its own office in Mexico City since 2014 – and Sánchez Devanny's deep knowledge and experience in the Mexican market. The general partners of Sánchez Devanny will become partners of Garrigues.

Additionally, the operation will allow the firm to strengthen its leadership position in Latin America, where, besides Mexico, it is also present in Chile, Colombia, and Peru. The integration, expected in the fourth quarter of the year, is subject to confirmatory due diligence, the signing of final contractual agreements, and the approval of the respective governing bodies of both firms.
