Garrigues appoints 16 new partners and a senior partner in Spain and internationally

The Garrigues’ partner meeting, held in Barcelona, has approved the appointment of 16 new equity partners and Rosa Zarza as the senior partner taking over from Javier Ybáñez, who will continue to be the partner in charge of the Latin American practice.

Garrigues appoints 16 new partners and a senior partner in Spain and internationally

The Garrigues’ partner meeting has approved the appointments of 16 new equity partners in Spain and internationally as well as Rosa Zarza as the senior partner taking over from Javier Ybáñez, who, on conclusion of his tenure, will continue to be the partner in charge of the Latin American practice. The nominations take effect by January 1, 2024.

The Garrigues professionals promoted to the category of partner in Spain are: Beatriz Amillo Torrano (Corporate and M&A, Madrid), Francisco Javier Cabarcos Dopico (Litigation and Arbitration, Vigo), Estíbaliz Colina Cárcamo (Corporate and M&A, Bilbao), Isabel Cortés Pulido (Tax, Madrid), Miguel Ángel Díaz Gómez (Labor and Employment, Seville), Álvaro Domínguez Heredero (Tax, Madrid), Julián García Payá (Labor and Employment, Valencia), Marta Gracia Domènech (Tax, Barcelona), Javier Guinot Barona (Tax, Valencia), Carlos Lasa Arozamena (Corporate and M&A, San Sebastián), Sara Luján Luján (Labor and Employment, Barcelona), Guillermo Zamora Marfil (Corporate and M&A, Seville).  

At the international offices, the four new partners are: David Jelicz (Corporate and M&A, Warsaw), Jaafar Laidi (Litigation and Arbitration, Casablanca), Manuel Liberal Jerónimo (Corporate and M&A, Oporto) and Isabel Vieira dos Reis (Tax, Lisbon).

Rosa Zarza is the global head of Garrigues’ Labor and Employment Department and Garrigues Sustainable. She is a member of the firm’s management committee and is in charge of leading its internal sustainability strategy. In addition, she pursues her academic and scholarly activity as the director of the ESG executive program at Centro de Estudios Garrigues and as a lecturer in postgraduate studies at a number of institutions. In her new position as Garrigues’ senior partner, she will be tasked with ensuring compliance with the firm’s internal policies and good governance.

For his side, Javier Ybáñez will continue to be the partner in charge of Garrigues’ Latin American practice. Javier has spent his entire professional career at the firm. After leading the Corporate and M&A Department, he has coordinated Garrigues’ expansion in Latin America since 2013.
