Fremman Capital acquires majority stake in Barcelona-based Palex

Private equity firm Fremman announced the acquisition of a majority stake in Barcelona-based medtech equipment and solutions provider Palex. Fremman acquired the stake from Ergon Capital, the private equity arm of Groupe Bruxelles Lambert. Ergon will remain a minority shareholder in the group, along with Spanish private equity firm Corpfin and Palex’s management team. Corpfin is ranked Excellent among private equity firms in Spain.
The minority shareholders have announced they will reinvest in the company once the deal closes. The size of the deal was not disclosed, although Fremman targets portfolio companies with enterprise values of EUR60-300m.
Ergon Capital was advised by Uría Menéndez in Madrid. The firm’s private equity advisory practice is ranked Leading by Leaders League.
