As of October 1st Sterimed acquired Especialistas en Esterilización y Envase, establishing presence in LatAm and building a world leader in the medical packaging.
This acquisition will create significant synergies that will benefit the supply of sterilization equipment to Latin-American hospitals and permit Sterimed to offer a wider variety of products throughout the continent. Prior to this acquisition, Sterimed already had a presence in Europe, the US and Asia.
Sterimed is a French company providing packaging solutions, and produces and distributes of syringes, catheters, curtains, gloves, laboratory sponges, gowns and compresses of paper and nonwoven materials, as well as sheets, printing, cutting, manufacturing, coating, and other services and products related to the healthcare industry worldwide.
Especialistas en Esterilización y Envase is a Mexican company which manufactures and distributes paper bags, drapes and gowns, sterilization indicators, rollstocks, packaging films, pouches and header bags. Besides its presence in Mexico, it has subsidiaries in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica and Panama.
