Fernando Soto joins Spanish law firm Gómez-Acebo & Pombo as real estate partner

Spanish law firm Gómez-Acebo & Pombo has appointed Fernando Soto as a partner in its real estate practice.
The lawyer joins from Freshfields and brings experience in real estate M&A, portfolio acquisitions and disposals, NPLs, loan-to-own transactions, sale-and-leaseback deals, joint ventures, lease agreements, hotel management contracts, and insolvency and restructuring matters involving real estate assets.
Soto has also advised on the creation, acquisition and development of student housing and logistics platforms. He will join the team led by Enrique Isla, which includes Jaime Díaz de Bustamante (partner) and Natalia Lastres (counsel), supported by more than 20 lawyers across the firm’s Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Lisbon offices.
