Ecuadorian law firm Falconi Puig has announced the addition of two partners in its corporate and litigation, and tax and finance areas.

Priscilla Falconi joins the firm with more than 15 years’ experience as a corporate and litigation lawyer, focusing on corporate, company and contractual matters and dispute handling and resolution.

She supports corporate entities from foundation onwards, ensuring they fulfil their rights and obligations and protect their internal and external operation, and that any structural modifications they may undergo, including dissolution, are in accordance with the law.

She also assists the board of directors or governing bodies of companies in areas such as negotiations and agreements between partners, regulatory aspects, business transformations, due diligence processes for the purchase or sale of companies, mergers and divestments, spin-offs, the granting of loans, banking matters and other partnership agreements that companies require as part of their activity.

She has handled the management of disputes between partners and shareholders, representing them before inspection bodies, and designing practical and effective dispute-resolution strategies using alternative means such as negotiation or mediation.

She has experience working as in-house lawyer for Baltic Control del Ecuador and Starkist, which has given her a broad perspective and understanding of clients’ needs. Prior to becoming a lawyer, she worked in the financial sector at Citibank and Banco Popular del Ecuador. 

The firm’s second new partner, Jorge David Uribe Reyes, has more than 30 years’ experience and is now director of the firm’s areas for tax, financial and business law. He has extensive experience advising clients on project structuring, tax consulting for the banking and fiduciary sector, tax planning, both in the corporate and family sphere.

He has provided his services to local and international companies and has also worked as a university professor in the faculty of jurisprudence at the Universidad de Cuenca, Universidad Católica Santiago de Guayaquil, Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador and at the Business School of the Universidad de San Francisco de Quito.
