Ecuador’s Bustamante Fabara adds 2 partners

Ecuadorian law firm Bustamante Fabara has announced the addition of two new partners, and who bring with them a team comprising a total of 11 highly qualified lawyers to the firm’s banking and finance and energy and natural resources practices.

Jesús Beltrán joins the firm’s banking and finance practice as a partner, and who has vast experience in cross-border financial transactions, which include securitizations, global bond offerings and loan agreements.

Jesús is qualified to practice in New York and has significant experience in that city as well as in Rome, and which, the firm says, further consolidates it as a leader In the banking and finance area in Ecuador.

For his part, new partner Rafael Valdivieso joins the firm’s energy and natural resources practice, and who is an experienced lawyer in the field, bolstering the firm’s expertise in this area.

Bustamante Fabrara is the result of the combination of two Ecuadorian law firms, Bustamante y Bustamante, incorporated in 1956, and Fabara & Compañía de Abogados, founded in 2003.

As reported by Leaders League at the time, the two firms integrated in 2021, and which have since achieved a consolidation that, as one firm, continues to grow in order to serve local and international clients.

With the merger, both firms now form a single firm offering full-service advice across a total of more than 18 practice areas, with a team comprising more than 90 lawyers, 14 of whom are partners, complemented by a staff of more than 160 professionals.

“The merger allows for the combination of extraordinary and complementary skills and experience accumulated by two of the leading law firms in Ecuador, whose trajectories have been recognized nationally and internationally,” according to the firm.
