Ecija Integrates Bustillo Abogados

Madrid-headquartered law firm Ecija has integrated specialist corporate and venture capital firm Bustillo Abogados.

Madrid-headquartered law firm Ecija has integrated specialist corporate and venture capital firm Bustillo Abogados.

Founded in 1988, Bustillo Abogados – which is led by Javier Bustillo (pictured) – focusses on advising venture capital funds, entrepreneurs and business angels.

Javier Bustillo, who will become a partner at Ecija, expertise includes advising on M&A and funding rounds.

The integration of the firm means Ecija now has 88 partners, of which 32 work in the firm’s corporate and commercial practice. The firm is anticipating growth of 26.3 per cent in 2019. Ecija's revenue was €44.5 million in 2018.

Javier Bustillo said Ecija had in recent years become a leading firm in Spain and would enable Bustillo Abogados’ team to “increase our ability to reach large clients and operations”.

Alejandro Touriño, managing partner of Ecija, commented: “This is the union of two firms that have been collaborating for a long time on numerous matters, and which share a common culture and aspire to continue growing together.”

Ecija's Madrid office now has more than 200 professionals. In total, the firm has 490 professionals in 12 jurisdictions: Spain, Portugal, the US, Chile, Honduras, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Guatemala, El Salvador, Puerto Rico and Panama.
