The former director for the labor area of KPMG Álvaro Rodríguez de la Calle joins ECIJA
Ecija strengthens the labor law practice with Álvaro Rodríguez de la Calle, former general director of labor of the Community of Madrid and until now director in the labor area of KPMG, now joining the firm as a partner. The labor practice counts with eleven partners and more than 30 professionals in Spain in its labor area.
With more than 20 years of professional experience, Rodríguez de la Calle is a Labor and Social Security inspector on leave of absence and in his time in the public administration led actions on the compliance of companies in legal-social matters, and had destinations in the Inspections of Vizcaya, Ciudad Real and Madrid. In 2020 he was appointed as General Director of Labor of the Regional Institute of Occupational Safety and Health of the Community of Madrid to assume the management of labor administrative procedures during the social and health crisis of COVID-19, particularly in ERTES.
A graduate in Law and Political Science and Administration from the Complutense University of Madrid, Rodríguez de la Calle is a member of the Advisory Board of the Labor Section of the Madrid Bar Association and is a speaker at seminars on labor matters.
The managing partner of the firm, Alejandro Touriño, highlights Rodríguez de la Calle’s technical excellence and knowledge of the institutions, confirming that the incorporation of Álvaro is in line with their current growth strategy in Spain, that aims to strengthen the firm’s labor practice.
From his side, Álvaro Rodríguez de la Calle said that joining the firm is an exciting challenge and a personal and professional challenge.
His incorporation is added to the recent appointment of Jorge González Cortade, State Attorney, as partner of public and regulatory law. With this latest move, Ecija adds 200 partners and more than 1000 professionals to its global structure.
