DLA Piper Expands Corporate Practice with Chilean Partner Appointment

Global law firm DLA Piper welcomed Mauricio Halpern Alamos as a corporate partner in the Chilean office, effective January 1st.
With over 16 years’ experience on the legal market, he has focused his expertise in corporate law, especially in finance law, capital markets and compliance matters, advising several foreign and national clients in a wide range of structured transactions, corporate and project financing.
Halpern’s experience includes participating in corporate restructuring processes, dispute resolution and negotiation among shareholders.
Since 2017 he has worked as a counsel at DLA Piper and prior to that, spent time as corporate prosecutor at supermarket chain SMU for two years. A graduate of Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, he holds a master’s in corporate, project finance and international arbitration from University of Pennsylvania. He also has international experience, having worked as foreign lawyer in the project financing area at the Clifford Chance in Washington D.C.
