In late December, full-service powerhouse Demarest Advogados announced the promotion of four new partners, Cesar Rossi Machado (Civil and Commercial Litigation and Arbitration), Bruna Toledo Pacheco and Daniel Caramaschi (M&A), and Thiago Abiatar Lopes Amaral (Tax), in a move that strengthen strategic departments of the firm.
Since 2005, Cesar Machado Rossi is a part of the civil and commercial litigation and arbitration department of Demarest Advogados, with vast experience in domestic and international arbitration, counseling in civil law to both Brazilian and foreign companies with a special focus on civil liability, contracts, intellectual property, and trademark. Academically, he obtained an LL.M. in litigation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution from Université Panthéon-Assas (Paris II).
Bruna Toledo Pacheco specializes in merger and acquisitions matters, particularly on those related to the agribusiness sector. Academically, Ms. Pacheco holds a Bachelor of Laws from Pontifícia Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP), a specialization degree in business law from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV-SP) and an LL.M. in American law from the Boston University.
With extensive experience in corporate law and M&A, Daniel Caramaschi acts on behalf of national and international companies on deals related to the plastic and cardboard packaging segment, as well as the tool manufacturers, technology and biotechnology sectors. Academically, he holds a postgraduate degree in tax law from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Campinas (PUC-Campinas), an MBA in business law from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), as well as an LL.M. in corporate law from Insper.
Thiago Abiatar Lopes Amaral has been a part of Demarest Advogados’ tax practice since 2003, starting at the firm as an intern. He advises companies from a broad range of sectors on tax litigation matters, as well as in consulting related to indirect tax. Academically, Mr. Amaral obtained an LL.M. with honors in law from the Northwestern University Pritzker School Law, Chicago (USA), as well as an LL.M. in tax law from Insper and a specialization degree, also in tax law, from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP).
