Colombian law firm Posse Herrera Ruiz has announced the promotion of two partners, Susana Gómez Ramírez and Jesús Alejandro Albarrán Hernández. These moves bring the partner count to 25 partners in 20 practice areas.
“Susana and Jesús are leaders who embody the values of ethics, respect, solidarity, loyalty, commitment, justice, diversity and excellence that characterize us,” the firm said in a statement.
“Their human quality, together with their extensive knowledge and experience in their areas of work are attributes that make us feel proud that they represent our firm at the highest level,” it added.
Susana is part of the corporate law and M&A team and started working at Posse Herrera Ruiz in 2012, where she remained until 2016, before going to to work in companies in the energy and financial sectors, before rejoining the firm in 2019.
She has more than 12 years’ experience and has participated in some of the largest M&A transactions in the country, in addition to leading many transactions of local and multinational companies in all sectors of the economy. She graduated as a lawyer from Universidad Javeriana and holds an LLM from Columbia University in New York.
Susana will reinforce the corporate and M&A team, which has six partners and more than 20 lawyers.
For his part, Jesús is part of the financial and capital markets team, bringing the number of partners in the area to three. Prior to joining the firm in 2016, he worked in Mexico and in the United States at firms such as Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom.
He has more than 15 years’ experience participating in the most important and innovative project financings in the country. He is licensed to practice in Mexico, New York and Colombia.
He holds a law degree from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico and an LLM in business law from New York University.
