Colombia’s De La Espriella opens energy and natural resources practice
Colombian law firm De La Espriella has announced the launch of its energy and natural resources practice, designed to meet current market demands.

“We believe that giving everything for a cause is having achieved the impossible, having overcome unimaginable obstacles, and therefore, thanks to this conviction that makes us work every day with quality and professionalism, we have decided to create, from the merger of the mining law and environmental law departments, the new department of energy and natural resources,” the firm said in a press release.
The new area will provide legal and judicial tools in different fields, such as support in processes of carbon capture, trade, and acquisition of carbon credits; due diligence, structuring of energy and mining projects; design of strategies focusing on facing climate change with corporate and social responsibility.
“Thanks to the merger of the two departments, we have expert lawyers who made a transversal team with strategic advice on preventing legal risks inherent to the operation of our clients in these industries,” the firm said.
In 20 years of operation, De La Espriella has positioned itself in both the national and international market as one of the most well-renowned law firms in Latin America, working in the legal representation of companies in various industries to optimize their resources.
The firm has offices in Colombia’s capital Bogotá, in addition to offices in Barranquilla and Medellín, and Miami.
